wpid-wp-1447522796527.jpegDear girl,
I know you. You’ve always been the girl who makes time for people who are always too busy for you.

You’ve always been the girl who goes out of her way to see people who haven’t done the same for you. You’ve always been the girl who pays attention to people who’s paying attention to someone else.

You’ve always been the girl who puts effort into those who are effortless towards you. You’ve always been the girl who puts other peoples’ needs first before your own. You’ve always been the girl who could be miserable and would also make sure everyone else is okay.

You’ve always been the girl who always forgives and forgets and deals with the pain by yourself afterwards without anyone knowing. You’ve always been the girl who cares too much and loves even harder for people who aren’t worthy of you. You’ve over-exerted yourself way too many times.

You’ve gone above and beyond more than you needed to. You’ve proved that you are a good person and an even better girlfriend repeatedly. And yet, you’ve been unappreciated, undervalued, neglected, taken for granted, rejected, led on, left hanging, and fucked over.

So, I’m here to tell you that instead of investing all of that energy and emotion in other people, you should be everything you are for other people for yourself. That’s the one thing you haven’t done, is to love yourself the way you love other people.

Self-respect, self-appreciation, and self-love are more important than making others happy at the expense of your own happiness because if you can’t be happy with yourself, you can’t be happy with anyone else. I’m not asking you to change, I’m just asking you to be in a relationship with yourself and see how much happier you’d make yourself.
Sincerely, a guy who cares.
